Horizon Study Share
  McKesson

Horizon Study Share, including the medical imaging reference site MyPACS.net, is a Web-based solution that enables radiologists, cardiologists, and other imaging specialists efficiently organise and share images and reference case information needed during daily practice.

Horizon Study Share extends current hospital imaging and information management systems with reference case management and clinical conferencing capabilities that result in rich, multimedia knowledge repositories to assist in diagnostics as well as research and training. It enables imaging specialists to leverage the wealth of information inherent in their image archives and provides a more efficient mechanism for sharing knowledge.

Horizon Study Share addresses four key functions:

  • Teaching File Management
  • Rounds and Conferences
  • Diagnostic Decision Support
  • Sharing Cases with Colleagues

Teaching Files

Horizon Study Share empowers radiologists to quickly create and share Web-based teaching files directly from PACS. Users can send key images to be included in teaching files with its DICOM attributes automatically
parsed.

Rounds and Conferences

Horizon Study Share saves radiologists hours per week preparing for conferences. Users can send cases directly from PACS to Horizon Study Share for inclusion in weekly conferences with no laborintensive preparation required. PowerPoint is automatically generated, optimized for step-wise presentation of history, findings, and key images. This is ideal for tumor boards and interdepartmental use, handling both DICOM and non-DICOM images.

Diagnostic Decision Support

Horizon Study Share helps reduce diagnostic errors by providing instant access to an ever-growing library of 50,000 diagnostic reference images, augmented with comments and discussions by thousands of radiologists. Find the most relevant cases, from your department or from your colleagues around the world.

Sharing Cases with Colleagues

Share images beyond your PACS. Using the “email this case” feature, you can anonymize and post the case to a secure website with a single click. The recipient then receives an email inviting them to click on a link to view the case. What’s more, all communication can be tracked for auditing purposes.

www.MyPACS.net

MyPACS.net is a Web-based online community for radiology decision support and exchange of case knowledge. This portal houses the largest collection of online teaching files, serving as a global comprehensive decision support resource.

Users have contributed 18,000 reference cases depicting thousands of diseases within just the last eight years. Cases are displayed using patent-pending Web-technology that lets the users manipulate images directly in their browser without need for additional software.

Each month, the site receives approximately 1 million page views from 70,000 imaging professionals around the world.
