The CID team has successfully sold and implemented the first McKesson ECG Management system in Australia. Cardioscan is quite unique and very different from any other ECG installation that McKesson has installed, it is also the largest of its kind for McKesson internationally. ECG Management is going to be a major growth area for DTA over the coming years and also opens up other areas of sales with our Edan ECG machines. Cardioscan are keen to be a referral site for both DTA and McKesson in the future.

McKesson’s ECG Management is now live in the largest ECG Reading Services company in Australia
McKesson’s ECG Management system has been successfully implemented and is now live in the largest ECG Reading Services company in Australia. Cardioscan is a private company that specializes in providing outsourced ECG reading services for several hospital and pathology groups in southeast Australia. Cardioscan has selected our Australian distributor, Device Technologies, to implement McKesson’s ECG Management system to replace an aging array of systems used to read and report on ECG procedures.
The single database solution will handle at full capacity between 300,000 to 400,000 ECG procedures annually, collecting ECG files from dozens of facilities and more than 1200 ECG machines. The solution streamlines the physician workflow by providing a web-enabled client that provides access to all the ECG’s that need to be read. Before the implementation of the McKesson ECG Management system, the physician’s would have to play “musical chairs” and use 5 separate client applications to complete the over-reading tasks. Among the decisive factors affecting Cardioscan’s choice of McKesson ECG Management:
- Ability to deliver a single system solution, completely on VMware infrastructure
- Successful site visit to the Ireland NIMIS projec
- McKesson’s brand as a leading provider of CVIS solutions
