| | VeinViewer | | | | | | | The VeinViewer is a clinical tool designed to improve peripheral vascular access, allowing clinicians to visually assess the location and orientation of their patient’s vessels directly on the surface of the skin. Developed by Luminetx Corporation in the United States, VeinViewer is the first and only patented technology to locate subcutaneous vasculature and project real-time images directly onto the surface of the skin. VeinViewer utilises near-infrared light, a digital video camera and an image processing unit to build an image of the patient’s vasculature. The device then projects that image, in real time, onto the patient’s skin using visible light. Health care professionals can keep their hands free during procedures while the system accurately maps the patient’s vasculature regardless of age, body type or skin tone. The VeinViewer provides clinicians with a road map to their patients vein network, taking the guesswork out of cannualtion. It allows clinicians to see hemoglobin up to 8mm deep and has been designed to aid in assessing the best possible access site during cannualtion. Now there is no such thing as a hard to find vein. “Consider the pain and discomfort that is associated with multiple attempts at venipuncture. Furthermore, consider the impact on resources related to delayed and unsuccessful procedures. Now, consider the value of a system that allows medical professionals to clearly see accessible vasculature, or lack thereof, in real time.” David Pennington, RN, BSN, MBA. Luminetx Manager of Clinical Operations. VeinViewer Features: - Illuminates haemoglobin up to 8mm deep
