Matachana and Device Technologies bring together decades of sterilisation expertise for Australian and New Zealand healthcare
Global sterilisation specialist Matachana will appoint Device Technologies as its exclusive distributor in Australia and New Zealand, effective 1 January 2027.

The new partnership will bring together two organisations with longstanding experience in sterilisation and infection prevention. Matachana has developed sterilisation and reprocessing solutions for more than 60 years, while Device Technologies entered the sterilisation category in 1993 and has since worked with leading global manufacturers to introduce and support sterilisation technologies across Australian and New Zealand healthcare environments.
Over more than three decades, Device Technologies has built established relationships with hospitals, healthcare professionals and Central Sterile Services Departments, supporting surgical sterilisation and medical device reprocessing across the region.
Heath Priestly, CEO of Device Technologies, said the appointment builds on an important part of the company’s history and capability.
“Sterilisation has been part of Device Technologies’ business since 1993. Over more than three decades, we have developed a deep understanding of the technologies, operating environments and support required by sterilisation and medical device reprocessing departments across Australia and New Zealand.
“Matachana is an established global specialist with a strong commitment to quality, innovation and technical expertise. There is a close alignment between our organisations, and we look forward to working together to support the continued development of the portfolio across the region.”
Founded in 1962, Matachana develops and manufactures equipment and integrated solutions across sterilisation, washing, disinfection and infection prevention for the Healthcare, Life Science and Pharmaceutical sectors.
Device Technologies and Matachana will work together to plan a smooth transition and support the continued growth across the region.
